The farmer selection process for the 2020/2021 season kicked off on Wednesday 23rd September at Lupasha village, Chisanga camp just outside Mpika off the road to Chief Kopa’s palace.
MADECO Board and management worked together to launch this exercise will look at provision of soya bean packs for 850 Farmers doing a lima each, up from 500 farmers in the first two years. Under the new normal, Covid 19 guidelines were followed and supported by a talk.
The Project is targeting a harvest of at least 500 metric tons to feed into the 20ton per day processing plant to be installed before the end of July 2021. The farmers will benefit from the provision of a ready market and also cash in the pocket to help contribute to improving their financial positions at a household level.
